A sterling person

She was definitely one of the most unique people (of so many!) I had ever met in the dressage world and was a true help in many ways to WHH’s shows getting up and going. She had a wicked and wry sense of humor, as did her mother Lazelle Knocke and both were game for pretty much anything to do with shows or horses. When I was trying to learn my way around organizing, Dorothy was always there for questions and ideas. She worked hard and played hard, traveling the Eastern half of the country in her camper and trailer. She was an absolutely sterling person, whether an organizer, a dressage TD, an eventing TD, a dressage R judge, and an FEI rider. I am proud to have been able to call her a friend. A light has gone out in the dressage world. Thank you, Dorothy – for everything!

  1. Years ago I spent a week at her farm as a working student. I learned so much! Many years of lessons from Dorothy followed. She will be missed!
